Perfect Boxing Day weather saw a strong crowd on show for the second round of the Rocket Industries Track Championship Series. The day also featured Jet Madness with jet powered dragsters, funny car, bike and a truck all performing demonstration runs.

The final Friday evening off-street drag meeting for the year at Calder Park brought out a strong turnout of competitors and spectators under a perfect Melbourne sky. Unfortunately a timely oil down mid way through proceedings kept track staff busy cleaning and re-preparing the Calder surface.

Steve Athens twin turbo Haddad 350 Chev powered Z28 Camaro was in solid touch on Friday night at Calder Park. Steve ran an early 7.91/183 run before backing up later in the evening with a strong 7.88/184 pass.

Round four of the Cruzin Magazine Nostalgia series rolled into Western Sydney International Dragway on Sunday under some unpredictable weather which held off for a solid day of old time racing.

The first day of summer brought back a few of Victoria’s toughest street cars on Friday night for the off-street drags. Michael McGrath’s small block powered ‘1TUFLJ has run a best of 8.40 and this time out Mick peddled the car to an 8.55/152.

Paul Stanek’s fantastic looking full chassis R31 Skyline made its first six cylinder passes at Heathcote Raceway on Sunday. Paul ran a 1.28-second foot short time on his first ever pass, but backed off due to tyre shake. The second pass saw a very lazy 11.57 at 152.70mph.

Friday night saw the weekly off street drags back in action once again. There were a few tough street Fords out to play and one of them was Ross’ mint black XB coupe. Ross was able to wrangle an 11.4/120 from the super clean looking 351 Cleveland powered Falcon.

Shane Crichton’s 1JZ powered Toyota Cressida has improved to third position in our new Drag Radial 6-cylinder top 20 records page at W.S.I.D on Friday night. The 2.5-litre turbo Toyota still retains standard engine internals but that didn't stop Shane improving his personal best to 10.17/135.
