A big crowd was in for the annual Christmas Challenge at Heathcote Park Raceway where a number of competitors ran personal best times. A highlight of the event was Dominic Rigoli piloting the TRP Subaru WRX to an 8.76/155 pass.

Kicking off the year, we were all eager to see what the next 12 months would deliver. 2004 saw a 6-second Pro RWD pass, low 7-second passes from ¾ chassis cars, and 4WD times tumbling across the nation.

It was good to see bracket racing back at Adelaide International Raceway on Saturday. The day wasn’t without a few hiccups however. We look forward to seeing further bracket rounds throughout 2006.

A large field of cars was on hand at Calder Park on Friday night. It was surprising to see so many quick 4-cylinder street cars for once, as Melbourne is primarily dominated by 6-cylinder and V8 enthusiasts. A warm evening ensured good track conditions.

It was a very windy day out at Calder Park on Sunday for Round 3 of the Nostalgia Drag Race Series put on by Cruzin Magazine. A wide variety of hot rods and classics could be seen on and off the track.

Round 2 of Cruzin Magazine’s Nostalgia Drag Race Series was held at Adelaide International Raceway last Sunday. Aimed at raising money for charity, the series now moves to Melbourne this weekend.

The second Vic Street Utes Drag Challenge at Heathcote Park Raceway on Saturday saw many street tyred LS1 Commodores run well into the 11-second region. Just a reminder about the upcoming All Performance Challenge at Heathcote this Saturday.

The 40th Nationals at Willowbank kicked off to a few persistent showers but the rain cleared up in time for the professional "Group 1" categories. Darren Morgan and the Lamattina Top Fuel team went an amazing 4.615 at 315mph, the quickest ever pass in Australian competition and only 0.001 behind Andrew Cowin's testing mark a month or so ago.
